Engagements
Legal Adjunct's office is nearly 100% virtual, meaning that I work from a modest home office,
rely on email and paperless document management, and, most importantly,
have little overhead. I pass this savings on to clients in the form of
rates that are low relative to similarly credentialed and experienced
attorneys.
Along with this cost savings comes agility. I am
chained neither to my office nor to a staff, which means that I
am willing to
travel to, and work from, clients' offices as needed for meetings,
projects or on-going in-house counsel engagements. This allows me to
get to know your business and personnel better and, ultimately, work
more seamlessly with you and your organization. (And no, I do not bill
for travel
time in the Seattle metropolitan area.)
Likewise, I am flexible in the
structure of my client engagements. My goal is to amass a select group of clients on whose legal and business teams I am a true contributor. To this end, engagements with Legal Adjunct come in two flavors:
- On-going In-house counsel services, which can be structured as a monthly consulting-style arrangement based on expected effort or a more traditional "as needed" hourly arrangement, in either case with rates adjusted to volume; or
- Transaction-based assignments, which in general follow the more traditional hourly-fee approach.
Of course, with some planning I can easily move between these two styles of representation, as dictated by the needs of a particular client or situation.
